The Salone del Mobile in Milan is, without a doubt, a global epicenter for design innovation. Every year (or better 2 years with Euroluce), it’s an incredible opportunity to immerse myself in the latest trends from leading lighting and furniture brands, seeing firsthand the creativity and craftsmanship shaping our spaces. But beyond the stunning displays and groundbreaking products, the Salone offers something equally invaluable: connections.
It’s a unique occasion to reconnect with familiar faces—colleagues from across the globe whom I don’t often get to see. These informal encounters, catching up on projects and life, are always a highlight. It’s a reminder of the vibrant, interconnected community we’re all a part of.
What makes the experience even richer are the unexpected encounters with fascinating people from entirely different worlds. This year, for instance, was particularly memorable. I had the absolute pleasure of bumping into Albertino and Fargetta, two legendary DJs from my teenage years on Radio Deejay! It was a fun, surprising moment that added an extra layer of enjoyment to an already inspiring week.
It’s interesting how things connect! I also had the pleasure of meeting Jacqueline Hen (DE), one of the female artists from the Collected Light exhibition by Light Collective, which took place in Milan in April 2023.
The Salone del Mobile truly is more than just a trade fair; it’s a dynamic hub for inspiration, professional networking, and delightful surprises that make the entire experience so rewarding.
