My current project, the conversion of a deconsecrated church into an archaeological museum, has just unveiled a truly breathtaking surprise! During the restoration work, a magnificent fresco of a Madonna was discovered, hidden for centuries beneath layers of later paint. This incredible find adds an entirely new dimension to a site already rich in history.
As the lighting designer for this upcoming archaeological museum, I’m now even more thrilled and challenged by the task at hand. Integrating this newly revealed masterpiece into the museum’s narrative and ensuring its delicate beauty is perfectly illuminated will be a key focus of the lighting scheme. This discovery not only enhances the historical significance of the space but also provides a unique opportunity to blend the old with the new through thoughtful and sensitive lighting design. The project is set to move into the realization phase in just a few months, and I can’t wait to share more updates as we progress.
Stay tuned!
